Ayurveda आयुर्वेद is not a new or old system to be implemented but is a “Vision” of the simple universal systems which are already present. We strive to teach and make true Ayurveda available to all people in all places while deeply respecting individual cultures, resources and beliefs. Our goal is to connect people to a practical harmony with one’s personal life and current environment.
Posturing, Movement, Breath and Awareness are the simplest and readily available means for balancing one’s needs, healing, and living a life of harmony, enthusiasm, satisfaction, and joy. We use classical Yoga theory and purposeful movement practices.
The art of massage is effectively performed when one has the vision of Ayurvedic diagnosis and the masterful use of Ayurvedic Touch. We teach flat mat and table therapies.
We use all the tactile arts to cleanse, engage, and nourish the senses and mind. Most commonly we use local craftsmen and specialized artists to teach activities like pottery, weaving, musical instruments, jewelry, health products, clothes making, music, dance, food and anything Beautiful and Holy.
Growing food, tending a garden, harvesting, preparing and eating is all part of the Ayurvedic model for a healthy body and mind. Often we learn amidst permaculture, or native farming.
Story is life. Tell your own, learn new. We use the art of story to bring life and understanding to the Ayurvedic healing arts.
We use English as a primary medium for education, but use the classic Sanskrit texts as resources wisdom and guidance. Basic introductions to Sanskrit pronunciation and reading are given. Classes are often translated to local languages, or to another dominant language of the students in attendance. Opportunities to learn local languages are always available.
The environment is our friend. All is relationship with the sacred. All that surrounds us is here to support. When we converge with like minded people and discuss profound subject matter we automatically find: purification on all levels, strong bonding to each other, attachment to the path of healing, satisfaction with our limitations and abilities, and support and examples for changing our habitual unsupportive ways. We hope our students and staff remain connected forever both in global and local setting. We always promote deepening friendship and natural mentorship.
With the greatest respect we approach the indigenous vision of life and ask that the great mystery adopt and grace us with true clarity of mind and connection from heart. We view all things as sacred and approach all we do with the same vision. We seek support in that view from anyone who can guide us to the essence of health and healing.
What else is there if we don’t do things for a place or time beyond ourselves? We aspire to always keep the in mind- where we’ve come from, our present relationships, and our positive future impact with the Whole. When we learn to minimize our needs and live by using less, we hold great abundance to share and serve the environment which supports and cares for us from birth to death.
